CAMP BETHANY EXCEPTIONAL CHILD SUPPORT WORKER

POSITION SUMMARY
Work directly with our campers with exceptional needs and, in consultation with their caregivers, create individual goals and outcomes that ensures their full integration, participation and safety in our camp program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates a commitment to growing in Christ.
Agreement with the statements of faith, vision and values of Bethany Community Church.
Compassion for children and teens and a strong desire to serve them.
Experience in serving children and students.
Experience and demonstrable skills in directing volunteers.
A current vulnerable sector police background check.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Exceptional Child Support Worker will be directly accountable to the Pastor of Family Life.
MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in conjunction with and under the supervision of the Pastor of Family Life, this position is for 40 hours per week and will include:
Foster a trusting relationship with their assigned camper(s) over the duration of the summer
In consultation with caregivers, plan developmentally appropriate activities and outcomes
Each day directly supervise assigned camper(s) with exceptionalities
Support the camper(s) in cultivating social relationships with other campers
Apply intervention strategies as needed
Communicate regularly with camp managers and team leaders
TERMS
40 hours per week, duration of 9 weeks*. Paid hourly wage.
